Over Eighty Families and Three Hundred Children Glow

Dr. Seuss’ Grinch may have had a heart that was two sizes too small, but kindness and generosity poured from the enormous hearts of individuals, families, groups of friends, companies and church congregations as they participated in our adopt-a-family program during this holiday season.

We have always been blessed with the support of our community during the holidays to assist some of our children and their families who might not otherwise be able to afford gifts and a feast. This year we were absolutely overwhelmed and inspired with the outpouring of generosity, from a client who wanted to “pay it forward” to St. Hilary parishioners by providing coats, boots, hats, gloves, and other gifts for 60 children. From Neofill, a business located in Mogadore, who left us speechless as they embraced the program requesting 26 families for adoption, to a pair of friends who wanted to make a difference. The true spirit of Christmas played out as our offices overflowed with boxes, bags, ribbons and tags as hundreds of bags and boxes were distributed to our families.

The holidays were much brighter for more than 80 families, which includes nearly 200 children. Approximately 100 additional children received gifts including toys, coats, hats, boots from churches and companies. There were tears all around as gifts made their way into the hands of the children and their families.

The memory of this special experience will remain with these families as they face many challenges in their daily lives. Our deep appreciation to all who help us weave together the fabric of family.
