Appointments
Do you have afterschool or evening appointments?
Yes, we have afterschool and evening appointments available. There is a higher demand for these times., therefore may be a longer wait for these times.

Do you see children in their schools?
We do have therapists who see children at some 40 Summit County schools. Please call our admissions department 330-762-0591 to check availability at your area school.

How do I get started?
Please call Admissions 330-762-0591. An admission appointment with your new therapist will be set up to best fit your needs.

How frequent are appointments?
Together with your therapist, you will develop your treatment plan. Generally, you will have weekly appointments.

How long are appointments?
Generally, appointments are one hour.

Fees
Do you accept Medicaid?
Yes. Bring your Medicaid card with you to your Admission appointment.

Do you accept my insurance?
CG&FS accepts many insurance programs. Before scheduling appointments, Admissions will take your insurance information and have it researched. Admissions will contact you and discuss coverage and options before scheduling. We accept medicaid and medicare coverage.

Do you have a sliding fee scale?
Yes we do. To be eligible for the sliding fee scale you must be a resident of Summit County. This scale considers your family size and income. Documentation of income is verified at your admission appointment.

Locations
Where are you located?
We have offices throughout Summit County in downtown Akron, Ellet, Cuyahoga Falls, Barberton and Twinsburg.

Programs
Do you have doctors who could give my child medication?
Our Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists and our Clinical Nurse Specialists are able to prescribe medications for children who are clients at CG&FS for psychiatric services after an evaluation is complete.

Do you offer group therapy for children?
Group therapy is often the most preferred form of treatment for children. Our groups focus on self-esteem, coping skills, social skills, anger, or family changes.

Do you offer parenting classes?
We offer different parenting support groups through our Family TIES Office (330-762-2557). We have different parent support groups depending on the concerns of the parent and age of the child.

Do you provide psychiatric evaluations?
We provide psychiatric evaluations for children who are clients at CG&FS. Unfortunately, we do not currently have this service available for adults but will assist in helping to locate appropriate resources.

Do you provide psychological testing?
We provide psychological testing for children who are clients involved with counseling at CG&FS.

Do you see adults?
Yes, but our services for adults are not as extensive as those we offer for children. We offer weekly therapy to address mental health issues but are unable to provide psychiatric services for adults.

Staff
Do you have male and female therapists?
We have both male and female therapists and we are culturally diverse. We will work with your needs and preferences to find a fit.

What qualifications do your therapists have?
Our therapists have various specialty areas and licensure, including psychologists, nurses, counselors and social workers. We will find a match to meet your needs.
