We Can Help

In today’s society, problems like drug and alcohol addiction, depression, sexual abuse and domestic violence threaten to tear apart the fabric of many families. Fortunately, Child Guidance & Family Solutions is here to help.

Our more than 150 professionals have decades of experience helping children, adolescents and adults find ways to grow, change and weather difficult challenges. Through individual mental health treatment and family counseling, we teach new coping skills and help you find solutions for the particular challenges you are facing. Those skills can also empower you and your child to take on future issues with confidence and strength.

It all starts with an initial assessment.

The first step we take is to develop a written plan based on an initial assessment and plan, which may evolve over time as your child progresses. Sometimes, parents and other family members are involved in therapy and treatment, in which case the plan also includes them.

The report we prepare includes:

·A list of your concerns
·A description of your child’s mental status and how well he or she currently functions in school, family life, significant relationships, etc.
·Important past events that may help us understand your current situation
·The strengths and assets that you bring to the current situation.

We then create an assessment and treatment plan that we share with you so that you can decide whether it meets your needs.

It’s important to keep in mind that your circumstances will evolve over time. As your child and others involved progress, we will continually adjust the plan to bring about the best possible outcome.

(TESTIMONIAL QUOTE):
“The recommended treatment plan helped us understand the people and processes that it took to help David. Thank you for listening. We had nowhere else to turn.”
