Internships

Child Guidance & Family Solutions offer internship experiences for students working toward degrees in counseling, social work and social service programs at the PhD, MA, BA and AA levels. Interns are provided with opportunity to work in our prevention, outpatient, med somatic, case management and intensive treatment programs as appropriate to their preparation and training. Supervision is provided per requirements for each discipline, degree and/or licensure level.

PhD and MA level interns are expected to provide 20 hours per week for two semesters. BA and AA interns expectations are accepted for one semester placements per requirements for their respective degree programs. All interns must be enrolled in an internship or equivalent course during the placement and be recommended by their course professor to be considered for this opportunity.

All interns are required to attend 4 days of new employee orientation prior to having contact with clients. This requirement is nonnegotiable. All prospective interns are required to pass a drug screen, which is paid for by Child Guidance & Family Solutions. None of the internships are paid placements.

Inservice programs and other training opportunities provided for Child Guidance & Family Solutions staff are also available to interns during their placement with the organization.
