Janet R. Gannon, M. Ed, LPCC-S, School/Mental Health Services Director
Janet Gannon can be considered the foundation of Child Guidance & Family Solutions. Although the job title on her door has been rewritten numerous times, Janet Gannon has remained in the same office at the central Child Guidance & Family Solutions Locust St. location since 1973, where she began as an Education Specialist which included tutoring, conducting school consultations, educational treatment and psychoeducational testing.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education & Special Education-Behavior Disorders and a Master of Education in Education Behavior Disorders from Kent State University. She is also a professional Clinical Counselor licensed by the State of Ohio.
As she advanced in her career path, Janet has not limited herself or her desire to counsel and work with adults and children with mental health challanges. As School/Mental Health Services Director she provides individual child/family/parent counseling, adult counseling, supervises and directs care prevention, draws up contracts with schools, monitors effectiveness and represents Child Guidance & Family Solutions on various community task forces, steering committees and advisory groups. She also serves on the Executive Council of Child Guidance & Family Solutions.
