Conflict of Interest

Both board and staff members of Child Guidance & Family Solutions are committed to acting in the best interest of the agency and those whom we serve, rather than in furthering personal interests or the interests of third parties. Policies are in place to prevent actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest.

A. Conflict of Interest Policy

1. Child Guidance & Family Solutions has a written policy applicable to board members, staff, and volunteers who have significant independent decision making authority regarding the resources of the agency.

2. The policy identifies the types of conduct or transactions that raise conflict of interest concerns and sets forth procedures for the disclosure of actual or potential conflicts.

B. Conflict of Interest Statements

1. The agency provides board members, staff, and volunteers who have significant independent decision making authority regarding the resources of the agency with a conflict of interest statement that summarizes the key elements of the agency’s conflict of interest policy.

2. The statement provides space for these individual to disclose any known financial interest that the individual, or a member of the individual’s immediate family, has in any business entity which transacts business with the organization.

3. The statement is provided to and signed by these individuals both at the time of initial affiliation with the organization and annually thereafter.
