Our Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (AD/HD) program is designed to treat children with hyperactivity and attention problems. These children are often restless, have difficulty paying attention and following rules. We have found that a coordinated effort, with medical, family, social and educational interventions works the best with these problems. Within the AD/HD program we strive to help parents build a plan that addresses their child’s needs.
There is no “cure” for AD/HD. A significant number of children with AD/HD will be challenged as adults. We can help your child adapt to the condition. You can learn various ways to help your child and improve your family life.
We’ll help you understand a great deal about AD/HD so you’ll be better able to relate to your child. We’ll help you develop specific ways to influence your child’s behavior, based on your improved understanding of your child’s condition and unique needs.
Along with other children with AD/HD, we’ll help your child learn ways to adapt to the challenges he/she is confronted with daily. We’ll work with your child to encourage the development of self-help skills related to studying, paying attention, slowing down and getting along with others.
If needed, we’ll work directly with your child’s school and encourage development of a classroom setting that will best meet your child’s educational needs.
