Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers Board elects new board member
Elaine Harlin, President of Child Guidance & Family Solutions elected to the OCBHPB, will become an integral component in enhancing Ohio’s behavioral healthcare system

Akron, OH - 02-21-2007 - Her list of responsibilities as President of Child Guidance & Family Solutions is already impressive. Ms. Harlin leads the Agency information management, accounting, fiscal administration and strategic planning. She is also the primary public relations spokesperson, human resource manager and affiliate to the ADM Board, United Way and the Ohio Council. Now, added to the list: Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers Board (OCBHPB) member. Along with her duties as President of Child Guidance & Family Solutions, Elaine Harlin will serve a two-year term on the 15-member Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers Board, a private, not-for-profit corporation and trade association representing 160 private, behavioral healthcare providers throughout the state.

Elaine Harlin has been a behavioral healthcare professional for over 28 years. She ascended ranks and transferred to the organization that in 2003 she successfully ushered the merger of Child Guidance Centers with Family Solutions. Her leadership and passion for change in the current state of mental and behavioral healthcare is evident by her list of credentials and her desire for improvement in the mental and behavioral healthcare community. “Kids are our future and we must invest in them and commit to break the perpetual cycle of mental illness and behavioral problems that cause needless suffering.” By becoming an elected member of the OCBHPB, she will help to ensure members are part of the solution to enhancing Ohio's healthcare system by reviewing policy, creating awareness and improving access to treatment for those who are underserved.

The Ohio Council of Behavioral Healthcare Providers, established in 1979, is committed to improving the health status of Ohio's communities by promoting effective, efficient, and sufficient behavioral health care through member excellence. Elected by the membership, the OCBHPB, located in Columbus, Ohio, provides strategic direction for the Council and leadership to the organization's committee structure. Ms. Harlin will be in attendance at the next OCBHPB meeting in April.
