6th Annual CG&FS Akron Celebration

It’s time to reserve your spot for Akron’s most talked-about summer event, “Growing Up Akron,” which benefits Child Guidance & Family Solutions (CG&FS), Summit County’s leading mental healthcare agency for children and their families.

• Date: Friday, August 14, from 6-9 p.m.
• Place: Thirsty Dog Brewery, 529 Grant Street, Akron
• Cost: $50 per ticket
• Reason: If you really need a reason for a party at a brewery: This event celebrates Akron and benefits those helped by CG&FS.

Background: Growing Up Akron (GupA) is a no-stress, laid-back way to get your “full Akron” on. In prior years, this event has drawn hundreds to the historic brewery to hear live local bands, sample Thirsty Dog brews, enjoy your favorite food from Akron’s iconic eateries – old and new – and help out a valuable area child healthcare agency.

Roxxymoron is back to take the stage again this year, and rock the brewery with their music. Food offerings include Swenson's, SkyWay, Retro Dog, Old Carolina, Mustard Seed Market, Gino's Pizza, Mary Coyle ice cream, Nuevo Modern Mexican and Norka Soda. Remember: It’s not just another fundraiser. This is Akron. So leave the tux at home. Rubber City Roller Girls, caricature artists, a Chinese auction and other special attractions will add to the fun. Make your reservation to drop by after work and celebrate the spirit of Akron.

Sponsorships also are available. For reservations, go to cgfsevents.org. For more information, contact the Development office 330-384-2882 or email at development@cgfs.org.
