9th Annual Growing Up Akron

On Friday, August 10, Child Guidance & Family Solutions will host its 9th Annual Growing Up Akron, a uniquely Akron event presented by Peg’s Foundation. Honorary Chairs are Sharon and Marc Merklin.

Tickets are on sale at www.cgfs.org/events starting at $60. Come out to the Thirsty Dog Brewery to indulge in classic Akron food and beverages, enjoy live music by Roxxymoron, and celebrate our city. This casual fundraising event celebrates Akron and benefits children and families in Summit County. Each year, Child Guidance & Family Solutions provides mental health programs and services to more than 4,000 children and families at five locations throughout the county.

Honorary Chairs Sharon and Marc Merklin have inspired many through their professional and civic involvement in Akron over the last 35 years. In 2014, they were selected for the Outstanding Leadership and Community Service Award by the Schultz Campus for Jewish Life. Marc is managing partner of Brouse McDowell, LPA, a leading regional law firm. Sharon has been the law librarian for the Community Legal Aid Society for over 30 years. Both Marc and Sharon have served on the board of many of Akron's most well-known community and nonprofit organizations.
