CG&FS Medical Director To Speak At Telemental Health Conference

Child Guidance & Family Solutions (CG&FS) is pleased to announce that Steven Jewell, MD, DLFAPA, Pediatric Psychiatrist, will be speaking at a conference on Telemental Health. He will participate in a panel discussing current telemental health services and successes in the Akron area. The conference is titled Telemental Health in Ohio: Connecting Care for the Future and will take place on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Akron Children’s Hospital. It is geared towards mental health providers, practice administrators and primary care providers.

Telemental health or Telepsychiatry uses telecommunications technology to provide behavioral health services to a distant site. Dr. Jewell will be speaking about using such technology to provide psychiatric services to children in their pediatrician’s office, as part of CG&FS’s broader initiative to integrate mental health and physical health services for its clients.

Dr. Jewell is Vice President and Medical Director at CG&FS. He will also be presenting at the Leadership Akron Class 31’s Health Care Day on February 18, 2015, addressing the future of medical education and practice. He will also speak about pediatric healthcare integration at the All - Ohio Institute on Community Psychiatry on March 28, 2015.
