Individual Counseling & Therapy

Facing emotional, behavioral and social difficulties presents challenges that can be overwhelming for a child who is still learning how to fit into his or her world, and the parents & families who care for them. Talking about those challenges with a therapist that specializes in working with children and their families can help build a solid foundation for emotional harmony and behavioral development.

Individual counseling and/or therapy sessions involve talking about your feelings, thoughts, behaviors, and the things that are troubling you. This could include talking about your relationships with others, changes that may have occurred in your life, or the source of any stress or anxiety you may be feeling.

Your therapist will work with you to set goals or identify the things you would like to accomplish together, and then help you develop different strategies to help you reach your goals. In some cases this could mean helping you to change patterns of thinking, learning new skills, changing behaviors, or shifting the way you feel and express emotions.

CG&FS also provides group counseling and therapy services.
