The First Step - Mental health Assessment

Every child and family face moments that can feel heavy, overwhelming and difficult to push through. These can include health problems, stress happening at home, school, or work, and difficulty with developing age typical skills. A mental health assessment is the first step to help understand what you or your child are going through and figure out the best way to support.

What to expect at your mental health assessment

Your first appointment will consist of a Mental health assessment or Substance Use assessment. During this assessment, a therapist will ask questions needed to make an appropriate diagnosis and provide recommendations for your plan of care.

Assessments can take place in one of our office locations, a school, a physician’s office, in the community or through telehealth.
