What you can expect with Intensive Home-based Services

Intensive Home-Based Services is a coordinated program for Summit County youth with severe emotional concerns and/or substance use concerns. The goal of treatment is to help youth avoid out-of-home placements such as inpatient hospitalization or residential treatment. This is accomplished through:

  • Family-focused, strength-based and culturally sensitive treatment
  • Services provided in the convenience of the youth’s environment, allowing the therapist to work with the most challenging behaviors as they occur
  • 3-5 hours of service per week
  • Three to six months of treatment, as determined by the youth’s needs

FIRST

FIRST is a program for people who have just experienced their first episode of psychosis (Hallucinations and Delusions). The goal is to ensure they get help quickly, instead of waiting months or even years to be diagnosed and treated. Receiving intensive intervention as soon as possible after the first episode is very important for their health and recovery.

What you can expect with FIRST

FIRST treatment services include psychiatric care, individual counseling, family psychoeducation, supported employment/education and support services provided in an integrated manner by a highly qualified team.

FIRST program goals include:

  • Improving individual and family functioning

  • Reducing the chance of relapse

  • Improving the long-term course of the illness

  • Decreasing the overall cost of treatment on the mental health system

CHR-p

Are you feeling anxious? Depressed? Hearing voices? Having trouble thinking clearly? Suspicious of others? If you have noticed these behavioral changes in yourself or someone you know, it is important to seek help.

Our clinical high‑risk (CHR‑p) program is designed to identify people ages 10–25 who may be at risk for psychosis. By identifying these signs early, we can offer support and treatment sooner, which can make a big difference in their health and well‑being. Our coordinated specialty care program gives each person a personal treatment plan that is supported by a team of mental health professionals. This plan can include psychotherapy, psychiatry, and TBS services to make sure each person gets the care they need when struggling with these behavioral changes.

Refugee Services

We provide trauma-informed services to the refugee community in Summit County.

Project THRIVE

This program was created in partnership with Boston Children’s Hospital and their Trauma and Community Resilience Center. We use the Project THRIVE model, which stands for Together for Healing, Resilience, Inclusion, Voices, and Empowerment. This model focuses on providing culturally sensitive care and helping remove barriers that refugee communities often face. It includes both services that help prevent problems and services that provide treatment when needed.

We serve the local refugee community

Through a culturally responsive lens, we offer community outreach using a community cultural advisor who is part of the community being served. Our community cultural advisor is an important part of our skill-based groups for youth in the community and treatment services are provided by professionals trained in this model.
