Suicide is complex—and preventable.
Recognizing the warning signs can save lives, especially among youth.

⚠️ Youth Suicide Warning Signs:

  • Expressing hopelessness about the future
  • Overwhelming emotional pain or distress
  • Physical symptoms like fatigue, headaches, or stomachaches
  • Withdrawing from friends, family, or activities
  • Changes in sleep patterns
  • Uncharacteristic anger or hostility
  • Increased agitation or irritability

If you’re concerned someone may be at risk:

  • Call 911 if there’s immediate danger
  • Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
  • Ask directly: “Are you thinking about suicide?”—it’s okay to ask
  • Listen without judgment. Show you care.
  • Stay with them or ensure they’re not alone
  • Remove any objects that could be used for self-harm

At Child Guidance & Family Solutions, we follow the Zero Suicide Framework—a proven, compassionate approach to suicide prevention.

We believe suicide is preventable through access to quality care, strong support systems, and evidence-based practices.
